The Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup Riot 2011
The Vancouver Canucks riot was unexpected, and so was their lost. Honestly, I am not interested in hockey, so I do not care if they win or lose. Rather than being disappointed, I thought it was dumb. There were eight games, and whoever won the most, would win. The Canucks was doing well in the beginning half, and only had to win one more game to win the cup. Sadly, they decided to lose the next few games in a row, and therefore, lost the Stanley cup. What I was disappointed in was the riot that happened almost immediately after the final game.

As mentioned earlier, it was unexpected. Generally, Vancouverites or Canadians are known as nice, and non-aggressive people. However, this riot showed the exact opposite. I found it strange how so many people did crazy things, such as burning police cars, breaking glass in nearby stores, and committing theft proudly under surveillance. This was not the Vancouver I knew. Some of these criminals were unexpected criminals. It was weird, and horrifying, but also interesting to see how people could change so quickly when experiencing major disappointment. Fortunately, many Vancouverites went to downtown the following day, and helped with the clean up. I certainly hope there will not be a second time.
