A Lesson I Learned in Life

Image
Long time ago, I tried to cover my troubles away from my mom, so that I could avoid being yelled at.      When it was my 6th birthday, my family bought a birthday cake to celebrate. I loved whipping cream, and that cake was full of it, especially on the sides. Thinking that no one would ever notice, I used my small fingers, and wiped some whipping cream off. I licked it off my fingers immediately. The part that I took some cream off of was now smeared. My mom noticed, and asked if any of us took some cream off. I did not admit to it. I thought I succeeded.      Years later, my mom, sister, and I were watching old videos that my dad had filmed of us when we were young. Most of the videos were about our vacations in the United States. However, there was one about my 6th birthday. I did not remember what I did that day. Suddenly, I saw myself wiping whipping cream off the sides of the cake on the screen. My 6 year old self had a look of g...

My Personal Goals

Image
I have a few personal goals, but they all lead to one thing, which is happiness. My ultimate goal is to feel, and be happy at all times. Of course, life does not go my way all the time, so I must find a balance in between. For example, I want to be a professional manga artist. However, I am not in Japan, and Canada does not invest in manga. Therefore, I now post pictures of drawings on Instagram, so that I can share it with others. My goal is to gain more followers, and do commissions in the future. It is slow, but I am making progress. During this process, I get excited that many people are liking my drawings. This is a goal that makes me happy, and excited for life.      Another goal I have is to open a cafe with my sister in the future. We like to bake, and decorate pretty cakes, cupcakes, and macarons. Although we both never learned baking, watching Youtube videos, and using different recipes have helped us improve. I would like to have a relaxing...

"Fallen" My favourite book of all times

Image
I do not like reading books, because I like to have visuals. It hurts my head to see all those letters, and words so closely together. However, I have read some books in the past, mostly for school. My favorite would be, "Fallen" by Lauren Kate. This is a series, but the first book, "Fallen", is my favorite, because it is the start of everything. It is where my curiosity began to grow.       I have always been interested in the past life, time, and soul within a person. "Fallen", demonstrates these interests. It is a love story between a girl and a boy, Lucinda and Daniel, through time and reincarnation. The story follows Lucinda's perspective, where she is cursed to die at age 17 in all of her lives. Daniel, an angel finds her in all of her lives, so that they could be lovers again. This story matches my interests. I love how Daniel's love can stay so strong after all these years. He has to face her in a disguise every single time they meet ...

The Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup Riot 2011

Image
The Vancouver Canucks riot was unexpected, and so was their lost. Honestly, I am not interested in hockey, so I do not care if they win or lose. Rather than being disappointed, I thought it was dumb. There were eight games, and whoever won the most, would win. The Canucks was doing well in the beginning half, and only had to win one more game to win the cup. Sadly, they decided to lose the next few games in a row, and therefore, lost the Stanley cup. What I was disappointed in was the riot that happened almost immediately after the final game. Video of the riot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sf5llrEjnok           As mentioned earlier, it was unexpected. Generally, Vancouverites or Canadians are known as nice, and non-aggressive people. However, this riot showed the exact opposite. I found it strange how so many people did crazy things, such as burning police cars, breaking glass in nearby stores, and committing theft proudly under ...

Drawing Gives Me Faith in General Life

Image
I love art. To be precise, manga drawing is my one and only favorite. Don't get me wrong though, I love painting, water coloring, realism, and all sorts of other forms of art. However, the only one I can do, and have confidence in, is manga drawing. I find it fascinating how a character, or a life form, can be created so easily  with just a pencil, and a piece of paper. Furthermore, manga drawing is not only about drawing, "something", but also about plot, and story.       Whether reading short scenarios, or the whole story of a manga, it gives me faith in general life. This is because many of the stories show many good parts of life that I have  not  yet experienced, but want to experience. For example, the cute relationships, fun school events, and adventures demonstrated in the manga. Unfortunately, many people think the goods shown in TV shows, anime, or manga are restricted only to those lucky people in the show. However, that...
